So I've gotten a recording interface and I plan to get EZdrummer very soon. I have a mac, and it comes with garage band, but I want to get ahold of a recording DAW that will let me edit the channel routing and filtering, which I think basically means I can fuck with the loops, which I very much want to do. I have a couple questions:
Firstly: will EZdrummer work with Audacity? Because if so problem solved, hell yeah.
Secondly: If not, what will it work with? My friend uses Sonar 8.5, so if I can get a mac version of that, that would be awesome so we could trade track back and forth easily.
Thirdly: If all of this is crap, and I need to spend money to get a decent DAW, what should I go for? Hopefully something on the very affordable side, but I still need to be able to manipulate the damn midi tracks.
Reaper. The trial is fully unlocked/unrestricted and doesn't expire. Most of us end up buying the license anyway, just because it kicks ass and good software is worth supporting. Essentially though, if money is tight - it's "free".
