I started to learn about audio production in december 2010 and thanks to google, sneap forum, gearslutz, guitarampmodelling.com, ss.org and many other forums like this one here i'm currently posting at - i gathered my knowledge mostly from the internet. Today i need your help once again!
I'v been using cubase since the beginning and I really like working with it. I started working in 2 local studios as a freelance (part-time) sound engineer and also produced a few local bands.
But recently i got a call from a 3rd studio, they are offering me a full-time job with a better pay scale but the problem is they mostly use Pro-Tools and I'v never worked in this DAW before! So i have like basically a week to learn PT and then I'll have to jump on board.
Can u guys help me out with some quick tips or advise about PT ? Anything will help - comparisons, short cuts, tutorial links, your own experience about PT... really anything...
I did some reading already. Tried out the PT 8 SE today and tomorrow I'm gonna start with the PT 10HD
I found a ton of answers here: Avid Audio Forums - Powered by vBulletin which is the protools user forum. Search for anything and you'll find it there. I have used PT exclusively since i started in late 2008..so I can't help you coming from cubase, but i am certain you will find posts on that forum from people who have made a similar change. Good luck!
