So, as a very few of you know, in between buying guitars and playing them sloppily out of tune from time to time I get around to recording something slightly less sloppily.
Whenever I do vocals, I run into the following problems. Now I will preface this by saying that I am definitely going for like a raspy extreme euro black metal style, but I could use some advice with the following things;
-Double tracking? Do or don't? How much panning should there be? How much quieter should the second track be?
-How wet is too wet?
Don't judge the clip too harshly. This is the bergstrand "black" preset on EZ Mix 2, stock settings unmessed with. (Besides the vocal processing the rest of the clip is unmixed) So obviously it's a bit much, but I purposefully left it like it was to highlight the problems I am having. Both tracks are the same volume and unpanned. Also, these obviously aren't final vocal takes. It's...difficult, to say the least, screeching at loud volumes in a shared apartment about satan, and I'm not really the most gifted vocalist in the first place, so...
Oh, also, I'm well aware the lead dubbed on the chorus towards the end sucks (vibrato and timing wise), I was really drunk when I did it.
