So I have been messing around with an M-Audio fast track pro micing my amps, but I want to plug directly into an audio interface and record that way.
Problem is i have no idea how to get a good metal guitar tone doing this. What packages or interfaces do you guys recommend and how do they work? I'm open for mid range priced items.
I thought about the Focusrite saphire pro 24, but need to know more about how to get tone.
Thanks for help on this noob question.
I also need programmable drums. I hear superior drummer with some good metal expansions is the way to go.
Superior Drummer is good, but so is EZDrummer--and not as expensive.
There's no "metal" interface.
It's all in what software or outboard effects you use.
Just find a good zero-latency interface and a good software bundle--there are tons.
Waves GTR is good. Over loud TH2 is really good, as well as many others.
You can even find free plugins around the Internet that are surprisingly good.
I found a few 5150 head plugins that are pretty close.
Make sure to double or triple track the guitars for a thick sound.
