After finally getting my recording setup all worked out I got to work last week on recording something. I finally managed to get all the parts down today (eh, more or less correctly) sans vocals. I'll definitely post an updated version of this once I get some lyrics and possibly some edits on the guitar timing, which is rough in some spots, like glaringly obvious rough.
So here is my shitty black metal recording!
I used my 8100 with an SD-1 for the guitar tone, and my 5150ii for the bass, both through my 1960A with G12T-75s. Guitar sounds decent to me, hopefully I can get a better sound for the next song, although it probably has to do with the fact that I'm using a shit mic. The bass tone sounded really flubby to me and stuck out in the mix, was wondering if any of you had some tips for how to properly eq a bass for metal. The drums are EZdrummer drumkit from hell, and I have to say this is a super easy program to use, especially when you want to edit something.
What do you guys think? (And as an aside, who do I post those helpful orange progress bars you all seem to have?)
