So after I made that last clip micing the cab, I decided it was time to revamp my crappy micing gear. So, I decided to get some intermediate stuff
I've heard/read good things about the Scarlett, and for a simple mic pre for guitars at home, it should have the bases covered. Plus, the subliminal messaging is what I'm sure forced my hand
I've been wanting some good mixing headphones, and something to listen to music with as well. I did some research over at Head Fi, and review hunting on the rest of the internet and came to the ATH-M50's. Can't wait to get these plugged into my laptop and program some drums whilst watching TV. The low impedance drivers in these are what I'm pretty excited about.
Now.. as for the e609 mic. The choice between that and the SM57 was super tough. I almost left with both. After extensive research and youtube shootouts, I went with the e609 to help subdue the fine top end in a lot of my tones. Coming from a POD HD through a V30, this outta be the right choice.
And the guys at GC were good enough to toss in the boom and the cable since I was snaking up so much gear.
Feeling pretty good about this stuff. I can't wait to hook it all up and see how much better and realistic my guitars can get. Well, as real as they can get with the POD until the 5150iii 50w show up
