I am in the process of finishing my 1st EP, and I am in a bit of a dilemma:
So far I have never done any editing on the guitar tracks in terms of going into the wave forms and splicing them and inserting silences.
While I do like the super tight sound of modern metal, I think for my own stuff I personally prefer a kind of old school thrash production sound (even if the music I play might be more modern rather than old school thrash).
Here is a short snippet of a track in question:
Do you guys think the rhythm guitars on this need to be edited to get them tighter or are they fine as they are?
I'd appreciate your guys' opinions.
Theres just a little sound of strings coming to a halt here and there. IMO its fine. Up to you though; the question is just do you want that little string stopping sound (that even the best players do) or not?
