I'm thinking of upgrading my POD to something that can record more than one input at a time. I'm currently looking at this: Akai EIE Pro, but was wondering whether anyboy had any other suggestions at a similar price point (not too much over £200). The Akai looks good as it seems rock solid and can take 4 inputs at once.
I've got another question; if I set an interface up as my main PC soundcard and plug some speakers in the back (into the monitor outs) could I then use it for casual listening etc. as well? or would prolonged use damage it?
Sorry if that's a really obvious question, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to recording etc.
A lot of people are happy with the Focusrite Saffire Pro:

I use one of these, and am very happy with it:

Regarding the second question - yes you can, and there's no reason not to. That's how I run my setup at home, and a lot of other people do as well.
