Wanted to touch base with everybody here and feel out if I should move down this route. Currently I am running a Saffire pro 40 interface and recording a lot of local bands in town. Money has finally started rolling in and the upgrade I am thinking about is my audio interface. Could someone elaborate for me what my advantages would be of switching from a saffire pro 40 to an RME UFX unit. I'm looking into long term future here and figured it would only be smart as to go with a top of the line unit. My question to all of you is do you think the money is well worth it?
While the RME stuff is amazing, it wouldn't offer you anything in terms of options over the Saffire. If you're ready to drop that much coin and looking for an actual step up, I'd take a look at something like the Allen & Heath Zed R16, and really get into getting hands on with a desk, whilst getting the best out of analogue and digital.
