I recently had to get a new usb port installed in my POD HD500. Now when I connect to try to use it to record in reaper. I get a message saying "Error initializing ASIO"
Could it be there was something not connected right, when the new USB port was installed? Normally I just set it up and I can playback reaper through my headphones in the HD500.
I think I may have found my answer on the Line 6 forums.
"In many cases, just replacing the usb port is not enough. The damaged port has probably caused a failure in an internal board/component within the HD500. I had the same thing happen to me. I had to take it in for servicing to replace the internal component as well as the USB port."
That's probably my problem, I'm not sure if I'll be better off to get all this fixed on my HD500 or buy another one.
If it is the HD500, you can just pick up a 2 channel interface on the cheap and record that way. It'll save you some bucks if the rest of the unit works.
Something like this would work:
