I want to start recording for my next EP and I'm in a bit of a dilemma and wanted to ask you guy for your input on this:
From a production-sound standpoint, would it makes any sense at all to use the same production sound as on my last EP? By that I mean using the same HD500 tones, using the same bass-software presets and using the same drum software presets?
That would be the easiest for me, since I would not have to work on getting new sounds all over.
But on the other hand I feel like I SHOULD work with new tones and sounds, like start from scratch and get new tones and bass/drum presets. This would mean a lot more work and maybe in the end the result may not sound as good as what I got on my last EP, but on the other hand I might get better results, I dunno.
What is your opinion on this?
I'd appreciate some feedback and input on this.
Music-style-wise my next EP is going to be in the same vein as my previous EP, so a similar or even same production sound could make sense ...
i would be trying to make everything better with each recording.
but if you are happy with the tones why not?
