    Acoustic Treatment

I'm looking to record an album with a larger than life, heavy metal sound! My aim is to get a massive wall of sound out of my home studio room. It's a small space that isn't ideal for such a record.

    (6x 4.5 x 3m).

The floors are carpeted and the walls are heavily absorptive. The ceiling is a drop ceiling made of acoustical tiles (the real ceiling is concrete) hung approximately 1m below the structural ceiling.

    I want:

    -Big open roomy drums
-To modify the room without making permanent alterations

I have about $700 to spend on acoustic treatment. What should I do for acoustic treatment, and how should it all be placed? What are some general guidelines to follow? And how should I arrange my microphones and instruments to get my desired sound?

    Thanks for your help!

Bass traps in the corners, close mic everything, add reverb during the mix down.
