I'm in fucking love with Steven Slates "Black Album" snare. It's basically the snare sound I'm always going for when recording drums. I've done lots of attempts at samples my own drums and while it works, it's never THIS good.
So... Do I have to pay for the whole thing or is it possible to get a similar (actually I want it pretty much identical, many other samples lacks that enourmous room ambience heard in the SS clip)
Also, I have read some stuff that it can have issues with Drumagog (which I use)
And that it also is really have on the CPU
Help out here?
I have one of the SSD programmes, EX or something. No resource issues. Never used it with Drumagog, but I can't see why that particular VST would be a problem. Unless I've misunderstood how Drumagog works, it won't have to interact with SSD at all. The work is being done by your DAW.
As for the sound, you can probably get that with something else by dicking around, but if you're lazy like me, paying for something that'll get you where you want with no fuss is worth it. It's not like it's crazy expensive, and it comes with a great library of other sounds.
