So I'm heading over to the sand box for about 8 months. Last time I had brought just a junky acoustic guitar with me, and that trip was only 4 months. While the acoustic was a pleasant time waster, I'm looking to get a little more out of the time I spend over there. So... I want to bring an electric guitar and a mini recording rig.
What I want to bring - MacBook, Scarlett 2i4, Shure studio headphones, and possibly my RGA 121 (prs se custom 24 alternatively but i dont like it quite as much)
Now does this sound dumb or am i actually thinking somewhat rationally? I mean an acoustic guitar is more "socially" entertaining, but when im spending 12-14 hours a day with the same people for months on end I'm much more satisfied being secluded for a bit.
If you have any experience or just some opinions, feel free to chime in! I would love to hear what other musicians would do.
If you want to re-introduce the "socially entertaining" bit, grab one of the little Blackstar Fly3 amps like I bought. Battery operated, capable of reasonable gain, cleans are decent... etc.
You can run headphones or the speaker. Just a suggestion.
