I have a shit ton of questions. Here's a really rough messy demo of the kind of shit I am going for.
-How the fuck do you do cymbal chokes in EZ Drummer? The muted cymals on the key maps aren't really chokes. I want like, Demolition Hammer style thrash chokes.
-When you have three guitar tracks. One set of rhythms hard panned 100% left and right, and another set of like slightly more melodic rhythms or trem picking shit. Where do you pan the higher set so they stand out? Any EQ tips?
-Delay on leads. What's a good VST? Do you usually do a standard delay kind of thing after the cab sim?
Your second question is a matter of taste, really, but using slightly different amp sounds between pairs can help them sit better together.
On the third, I generally just use ReaDelay. And I usually record dry and then add in the mix, so if you're using amp and cab simulation, then the way you suggest here (amp sim, cab/mic sim, delay) is probably right.
