I know this is not the typical forum member's music de rigueur, but there are some industrial folks, and I'm assuming the tools are the same.
My daughter announced that she wanted to start making her own music that's like the music on the Chill Sirius/XM channel, Björk, Hawkwind or some of other the electronica/ambient we have. I'm all for it, I just have the barest identifiably greater than zero clue where to start.
I'd like to start with FOSS, preferably linux, software. We have LMMS, but need some kind of a "How-To" or beginner project to work through.
Or, if there's a good tool to start with, that would be useable on an iPad Mini, that wouldn't be a bad starting point either. We have IK Multimedia's GrooveTool, but haven't really experimented/learned how to use that yet. Having to rely on IAP song sets is a bit of a discouragement. We can also easily go with anything Mac-based too, but since this is something new, not anything expensive.
Windows would be tougher, because we only have a tiny Netbook, that is so slow, it's rarely used for much of anything.
Not the type of music you suggested but the point is you can see what people do with it. Also the vid is for ipad pro but I know ipad based stuff by NI has been around for a while.
Not the cheapest. As NI tries to sell you samples. I mean what they really want is for you to buy their drum machine and samples, their keyboards etc.
