Earlier this year, I remixed an album I had done in 2007 using a Behringer VAmp Pro. I didn't have DIs of the guitar tracks so I had to use Ozone to tone-match the AxeFX sound I use now. And it was fairly successful. It didn't quite have the same cut and was maybe a little blurry but in the heat of battle it was absolutely fine.
So fast-forward to today, and I've been asked to remix an album from 2011, where the guitars were done using a POD X3 and don't sound too bad actually. But I have to finish a leftover track to use as a bonus and it never had the guitars recorded properly... so I'm sitting with my AX8 trying to emulate the sound of a POD X3. I almost shelled out the $99 for PODFarm, but it pains me to give any more money to Line6.
Will I end up using Ozone again, that is the question...
