as per this post, we've got the following to find!

london-based prog / death metal band require a keyboardist for imminent recording, gigging & beards.

formed since the split of interlock, hal sinden & joe butterworth are joined by ewan parry & mark ‘duff’ duffy in making some solid progressive death in the vein of akercocke, my dying bride & porcupine tree. the band have now finished recording their debut ‘reason & abstract’ EP and made their first appearance on the main stage of fusion ’09 (at the elgiva theatre) which can be seen talanas have already appeared in various press & publications both online and printed.

promotion for the debut EP is now underway and the band are preparing their live set whilst writing original material for their first full-length album.

talanas have a weekly slot every friday evening at berry street studio in barbican, central london. rehearsals are mixed with full use of the professional recording facilities. image & style of output is now firmly in place.

the debut EP is to be self-released in july / august, self through eulogy media, shooting at least one promo video as soon as the lineup is confirmed. endorsement & promotion deals are already secured and the band will be booking gigs as soon as hard copies are available.

recording for the album is tentatively scheduled for later this year, some tunes are currently finalising but active involvement on keyboards is now very much on the cards.

a professional keyboardist with a good command of melody & eye for invention. this won’t be symphonic swathes of strings & fake choirs nor is it laser-chasing techno rompage, instead more odd & unexpected, organic soundscapes and noises. own gear essential, as is a commitment to regular practice, stage presence & equal financial contribution to allow things to reach a point where it’s more self sustaining (music isn’t free, least of all in this day & age)

come join us. before we resort to making stupid sounds with our mouths. more than currently.
