MF_Kitten has a spectacular aura about
Default NASA Fans: Voyager audio recordings?

Iīve been looking around for this for a while now: the Voyager satellites made recordings of all sorts of energy from different planets and moons. everything from radio waves to electromagnetic pulses. alot of these were converted into audio form, as lots of it was within audible range. the result was this:

about 2 and a half hours worth of sounds like these were released in a 5-disc CD box in like 1990, and i donīt think itīs printed anymore. these recordings have been altered and processed and organized in a musical, or generally interesting, way. itīs nice to listen to if you like ambient drone stuff, but what iīm after is the unaltered unprocessed raw sound files. itīs got to be out there somewhere! isnīt NASAīs recorded media (pictures, videos, audio) released to the public, with no ownership (canīt remember what itīs called ), so anyone can use it?

i really want to listen to them without any processing or anything, and i want to try and use it in my recordings too. could be really interesting!

so, anyone have any clue as to where i can find this? iīm not interested in the box set of the processed tracks (for those who do though, itīs called Voyager Recordings: the symphonies of the planets, or something like that). i want the raw stuff. iīve emailed NASA, but i donīt expect any response from them hahah!

Hm, I had found some raw recordings of Jupiter a while back, intended to figure out a way to use them musically too, but never got around to it. I'll see if I can dig up the link.

check it. the ending has this blowing wind part that just fell perfectly with the music so i kept it like that.

i love that! sounds like that are so awesome. they have this really interesting quality that you canīt quite place. is it wind, is it something squeaking? is it forwards or backwards?

i know recordings were made of Jupiter and Io, and a few more things/places. canīt remember it all though.
