    Ibanez Prestige or Schecter???

    Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a new 6 string for playing fast metalcore, melodic metal, thrash and just fun shit. It must have a floating tremelo cause playing pantera is fun! I want a nice sounding guitar for all aspects of playing too. Future plans for it will be putting some BK painkillers in there (unless it just sounds wicked from factory!?)

My thoughts are between an Ibanez RGA420Z, Schecter Blackjack ATX C-1 FR or the Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR...

These are my thoughts of guitars. Please give me your opinions on them if you can and I'm open for more suggestions of types of guitars to look at instead also.

Cheers heaps for your help, thoughts and advice!

    HORN UP!!!

for everything you play I think you would really like the Schecter Blackjack SLS C-1 FR

It comes with a Floyd Rose 1000 Trem (extremely stable), Seymour Duncan Full Shred and Jazz pickups. The neck is thinner but still a little thicker than an ibanez and it's satin finish on the neck which for what you would be a big help and if you like single coil tones it has a coil tap. Plus it has jumbo frets and an Ebony board.

I'm not sure what your budget is but when I bought it I paid 900 dollars for this guitar. I wish I still had it but I had to sell it cause my financial situation.

Edit: forgot to mention this guitar also comes in a active pickup version if you prefer to try the actives.
I play Suhrs, not poor people guitars. -Chris

Man I'm loving these Hellraiser Extreme C-1's in fact the Hellraiser line looks killer.

I've never owned a Schecter before but this may be the year - great looking guitar with great features.

Nothing at all against any of the Ibanez Prestige models but especially if you're on a budget the Schecter seems like huge bang for the buck.

ive not tried any 6 string Schecters but going purely on spec schecter will give you a lot of guitar for your money. Ibanez will do this also but you will have to swap the pickups out as ibanez pickups are pretty much universally shit.

Really you would be best checking them out side by side using similar value models.

That first one Daniel suggested looks great pity the guys in Schecter did what they always do and said

'hey guys this is a pretty awsome looking guitar! How can we fuck it up?'

'We could put a really gay skull graphic at the 12th fret?'

'Yes! I knew we kept you around here for something Bob, skull graphics on the 12th fret, that really will make them look shit, well done!'

indeed - i thought they made neck though guitars as well they all seem to be set with ultra access - i assume that means fairly deep set

now I wish I removed the neck pickup to check that. I know my ESP LTD MHB400's neck would end right in the neck pickup cavity.

Can't you go out an try them? Seriously, Schecter and Ibanez are 2 different things, IMO. Completely different feel. No matter what every one recommends, your hands will be the final judge. Can't buy shoes without trying them first, ya know?
