2010-2011 NHL season thread.
Well, had a handful of warm up games already. Who's excited for the new season?
Anyone know where I can find a good list of trades that have taken place? I'm having a hell of a time finding a good complete list.

Bit of a West Coast Hockey rant here:
As of this evening. Thanks to the wonders of DirecTV and the NHL Center Ice package. I'm already going to be watching my 4th preseason game of the NYR, and will catch whatever else is going on in the Eastern Conference. But. How many pre-season games of the San Jose Sharks have been televised by their local sports channel so far? Zero. Yet this town and hockey club have this ridiculous sense of entitlement; that they should have been hoisting Lord Stanley over their heads for the past 4 seasons already. I suppose however, that there some poetic justice in the fact that Anaheim beat them to the cup. Right after Disney sold the team no less. So just like clockwork. I'll once again be hearing their "fans" declaring at the All-Star break how they "deserve" to win the cup. Come the beginning of the playoffs, they'll think that it'll be a cakewalk all the way to the finals. Annnnd just like the sun sets in the West -or- the swallows arrive back in Capistrano for the Spring. The Sharks will go back into hibernation this April.  |

Yeah I'm getting the same vibe from watching the Blackhawks preseason games... FFS it's preseason and you're chanting "We want the Cup?"? And the Hawks are what, 1 and 3 now? I mean they won last year after ages, but I know in Pittsburgh we were HOPING the Pens would repeat, but not assuming they would in the preseason  |
