After 2 and half years driving with my 1.4 Zetec Focus, I'm looking to get a different car. The Focus is getting on a bit now with over 100,000 miles on it and it's pretty sluggish. I want something that pulls away really well, doesn't cost a fortune, reliable and looks smart.
I've been looking around at these
Honda Civic Sport
Toyota Yaris T Sport
Volkswagen Polo GTI (high insurance group putting me off and stories of VW gear box failures)
Vauxhall Corsa SRI 1.4 or 1.8
Now really the SRI 1.8 is really getting my attention. Insurance group 9, 0 - 60 in 8 secs, roughly 37mpg and I'm familiar with Corsas and know that they're decent cars and don't give too much trouble.
Have any of you come across one and what did you think?
Would you be going brand new, or second hand?
Also, how old would you be willing to go if so?
