Just thought i'd share that i just completed the Rider's Edge training course at my local Harley-Davidson dealer (Frederick MD).
A month or so ago, my wife's friend gave me her bike. GAVE. Like.... free. A 2007 Yamaha 250 Verago.
Anyway, back to the training course. It was awesome! The way in which the instructors taught the class, how they presented the material, the exercises.... their coaching, attention, instruction, thoroughness... and most impressive - their command & leadership....... I can't rave enough about these two gentleman (Matt Henson & Tom Chervek) and how they administered this course. I would highly recommend it to anybody.
So, I passed my tests and now I just have to visit the MVA to get my license adjusted. I can't wait to start riding - it'll be a lot of fun. I'll spend the next year on my little 250 learning what i like about it, as well as what I want in my next bike. I imagine I'll sell it in a year so i can put money down on something that won't get me rear-ended by grandma when merging on the interstate. I haven't ridden it yet (the course provided Buells for us to ride and test on)... but folks keep telling me that after a while, I'll be ready for some more power.
ATGATT, and keep the shiny side up!
