Following on from the Lamborghini thread, thought you might like to see my V8. Been described to me as a 'failed rock star in a failed rock stars car', which really nails it i guess. Anyhoo, i'll drip feed it to you 'cos these 'aint had the fair share of good motoring press over the years - try not to mock me - these are great cars if you really know them. Heavily modded from the base car -
1. the engine - Range rover v8 4.6 ltr, stage 1 tuned with Edelbrock 4 port carb and pancake filter on offenhauser manifold which feeds thermo wrapped exhaust manifold to a s/ steel twin pipe, 4 box system. 300 hp at the rear wheels, prehistoric salisbury rear axle ( transit van ) modded for the slip diff.
Very hard not to spin the wheels, car weighs under a ton. 300 lb/ft torque - like driving a scania truck, i.e. lazy till wound up. Can pull away easily in third gear all the way up to 130 mph as it goes into the red line. Two more gears and i had 155 once - bigger tyres mean a lower reading on the clock so possibly could have been over 160 ! Car is a 1981 model so give it some respect.
Do ya' know what it is yet?
Mmmm... yummy Redbull.
