I finally caved and got an aftermarket deck for my car. I've been buying albums off iTunes lately because it's cheaper, instant, and is saved on my Apple account, and burning them for the car. I went in to work last week to buy blank CDs and a CD wallet (which we don't even carry anymore haha) and I got berated and pressured into buying a deck.
Fast forward to Monday, when we got in the car to leave for school and the entire left side audio in my car cut out. I figured it was something in the deck, because the radio was fine. I sold a lens and had some extra cash, so I got a deck from work.
It's a Kenwood KDC-158U. One of the cheaper ones - it's normally $90, IIRC, and was on sale for $80, and my staff price was $65 (cheaper than usual because of the sale). I didn't want to spend much, but went with this one because it's got a USB port as well as an auxiliary in, and still plays CDs (the model up had Bluetooth, but no disc drive, and was more expensive). I'd plug my phone in anyway so the Bluetooth doesn't rape the battery, so I figured I'd save money and cut out the middle man.

The install went pretty smoothly. I got the wiring kits, so I just had to solder them together in the house, and pop the old deck out and plug the new one in.
So far, so good. And I get both sides of the stereo field again, woo hoo.
Nice. Aux and usb rule, wish my car had USB.
I didnt see which subforum this is, my reaction was "they put a deck on their rental in October??"
