Yes... I'm happy to say... its true!!

Original thread (For those who want to read all of it):

Otherwise, pay attention to 'novosibir' starting on page 2:

Btw thanks for your kind words about my amps! And yes...

Larry makes a preamp now. It's based off of Schaffer's amp. I don't know how many channels or how much, but I'm sure it will put that tone a little closer in reach $ wise.
This is true! Jon had me to make him a preamp just with his two favorite sounds of the DINO amps in it, which are the California clean and the British HotRod sounds.

Hence it's just a 2-channel preamp with an parallel effects loop just for the Clean included. Jon doesn't use any effects or floor pedals, just the amp itself - except with the clean sound, there he's using a Chorus pedal. And that he not always also has to switch the chorus on & off by changing the sound, the loop only is active in the Clean sound.

Here some quick shots of the preamp:

Yes, on the preamp the California Clean sound is called 'Pure Bliss' and the British HotRod sound is called 'Pure Evil', just after Jon's suggestion. One sound from heaven, the other directly from hell

And as you can see on the guts shots each output does have its own isolation transformer, so that you'll never run into hum issues on stage, when you plug the preamp into the returns of any other amps, which then are used just as power amplifiers.

pretty cool.... the Athens disc has some pretty awesomely tight rhythm sounds.... and so they did when they came through DC a few months ago.

i'm no loop expert, but i like my series loop.

No clue whatsoever  I still have no idea the actual cost on a DINO 939 either... Can't remember where I read it but I'm guessing somewhere around 5k for the Dino. So the preamp I'm guessing might be around 2-3k?

Hrm. His website hasnt been updated in, like, a year or so. I should email. Or you should. If you clear your rack out, you could totally buy that pre. Then tell me about it. :yesway:

Heard the Dinos were 5-6k Euro, which is I don't know how much in $$.

Maybe you can afford one if you work at AIG?
