This bass was completed in February of 2009 and I purchased it new from Guitar Center a few months later.

Specs -

5 string, 34" scale, HH, 3 band EQ, 5 way selector switch, solid rosewood neck, gold hardware, in a Guitar Center exclusive (I believe) Pace Car Blue, with a blue/grey/gold swirled pickguard. I never removed the plastic from the pickguard. The pictures do not do this color or the figuring of the rosewood on the neck any justice at all. It's an unbelievable playing and sounding bass that is a bit more warm and full sounding than your traditional Stingray, but I just don't need 5 strings and this bass hasn't left it's case in 6 months for anything other than the occasional tuneup. There are no marks on bass that I can find. There is a hint of tarnish on the gold bridge. It comes with a molded case and a Certificate of Authenticity.

It pains me to sell this, but it really needs to be done. $1700 shipped/insured in the Continental US only.

Pictures are below.

It pains me to think how sweet this bass probably is, going for that much, considering that I paid $109 for my OLP version

The rosewood neck was a limited time only option - dealers were only able to order them for one month at the end of '08. These rarely pop up, at least from my research.

It is unbelievable how bad I wish I had the money. :(

Is the neck and board all one piece?

Max

Presumably, they are either from separate blanks, or the fretboard was sawn off the same blank. Gotta get a trussrod in there ;)

Sorry I didn't see this earlier... there are two pieces, it's just hard to see the lines. I will see if I can take a better picture later tonight.

Any chances that can get to Canada? I want to talk my bassist into it, since it's a BFR for silly moneys.

I'm not sure if I want to deal with the hassle, especially since the case is HUGE, but I will look into it. Shipping will be extra though.

Of course. Bassist wants a 5-string Sting Ray and this thing is smokin'!

If I had massive amounts of money, this would definitely be the bass I would buy.

Also, sorry dude, probably frustrating to have everybody love your bass, but nobody buy it

Damn such a gorgeous bass, I'm surprised nobody has snagged it yet.

Every time this thread is bumped, I have GAS pains.

...unless you'd consider a Rickenbacker 4003 in trade? It'd have to wait though, since it's currently at my stepdad's place in Vermont...

Yes, this is still available. I haven't been pushing real hard, but it is going to end up on Talkbass in a week or so. PM's replied to as well... sorry I haven't been getting notified of them, I must have turned that option off.
