Joined. The barcode scanner in the app is suoer handy. As I posted at GR, I just use the site for cataloging my Tolkien and occult collections, but I'll be glad to read other MG-ers' reviews and such.

I am a Tolkien collector, and one day when I was doing some hunting for a specific series I realized I couldn't remember which ones I owned and which ones I needed. I found Goodreads was a good cataloging service (I'm getting my Master's degree in library and information studies) but was dreading inputting all of the books. Using their app, it took like 20 minutes lol.

Man, this site is awesome. As a book nerd, being able to check my "pace" is pretty cool. I wish I'd done it last year, because according to my Kindle I was around 40-50 books for 2012, and over 100 since I got it for Christmas in 2010. (Including novellas, of course)

The recommendations seem pretty spot on too. I put in a bunch of stuff off the top of my head, and a lot of the recommended books were things I already read and did in fact enjoy.

There IS an iPhone app, and I've installed it. I haven't done a thing with it yet, however.

I'm not reading much these days, but I'll have some catching up to do after the CFA. This is a potentially cool service.
