I heard, but I have no Xbox. While there's definitely an argument for NGII over Sigma 2, I have all three NG games on my old PS3, so I'm good

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is still my favorite action game of all time, I much prefer the quick twitch fast game play to the more modern souls games. I absolutely hated Nioh.

Have you tried Sekiro yet? Despite being another Souls game by FromSofware, it's much more fast paced and does the samurai/ninja vibe than Nioh did.

Is it more like NG? I've really dug the combat of the newer Batman / Spiderman games, but haven't really liked the slower Souls games. I was under the impression Sekiro was more of a Souls game.

I haven't played Sekiro myself yet (still grinding through Lost Paradise). But looking at all the gameplay footage, it's a lot faster paced than any Souls game, much closer to NG than Nioh. A lot of stealth mechanics, you can easily just turn around and run unlike Soulsbourne and you have a grappling hook so it's got the ninja vibe down pat. No obnoxious camera angles like NG either.

Granted it's heritage is still a Dark Souls game, namely exploring a huge sprawling open world with little to no exposition, treading gloomy environments extremely carefully, and can and will powerbomb you like a champ if you so much as make a slight miss step. But with the significant change in the combat engine, even Souls players find it too drastic to saying as much as they don't like it as a Souls game but will recommend it as a gateway.
