I don't have a wood top, I have the all black composite one.

I built my own work bench for my old garage, and it's the only thing I really miss about that house, since I had to move for work, and couldn't take it with me.

If you'll have it a long time, and can transport it around, build one

That doesn't mean you can't lemon oil it. Conventional wisdom is lemon oil is for stuff with exposed/semi exposed grains, but I say just lemon oil everything. You can lemon oil composite or really closed gloss finishes and it still offers some level of dust protection. I've lemon oiled a piano style really thick finish and formica where it wasn't making contact with the wood or anything resembling wood at all and I thought it still was a noticeable difference.

Besides, you are Amazon's most prolific lemon oil reviewer. You're supposed to be a lemon oil connoisseur. Your Guitar Honey review that pretty much stops just short of calling guitar honey a biblical level miracle is the stuff of legend. Do you know how hard it is to buy lemon oil off Amazon when there aren't reviews that enthusiastic for a lemon oil product?

The only wrong way to use lemon oil is if you are pouring it directly into your eyes. Other than that it's a panacea.

Guitar Honey is indeed the bomb, and winter is coming.

Yeah, that's kinda the issue I'm having with my old one, it's made from Ikea kitchen units and built into the room lol. I'm busily working out what I think I want layout wise, so I can foresee a woodwork project in my future
I'm so metal I shit bats

I went the Fuck it and buy Cheap Ikea Shit route and it works ok. Will get monitor stands at some point.
I'm going to swap out the desk top with butcher block at some point.
