    Tool fans =/= Tool, thank god. Tool fans are some of the worst I've ever heard.

    I actually don't love Tool's earlier stuff - Undertow has some great moments (Swamp Song, which is admittedly sophomoric as fuck but at least comes across a little more tongue in cheek, Sober), but is pretty sophmoric in places. I think, especially from Lateralus on, Maynard matured rather a lot as a lyricist. Even AEnima was getting there - Jimmy barely reads like a metal song, it's actually kind of beautiful.
