That song (obviously known as The Highlander: TV Series theme song) is awesome. But I agree, the bends are overdone.

No idea what you're going on about. The bends absolutely make that opening.

    Agreed.

To further prove he has no idea what hes talking about, this song was in the original movie A LOT before the show was even conceived.

May's tone is fuckin' gigantic on that track too. That first chord is so thick, Sir Mix-A-Lot is planning a comeback tour around it.

I think he was referencing the Brantley Gilbert guest spot.

I love how much of a cariacture FFDP has become. Shoe horning a classic song, rock icon, bro'd out redneck and of course, jerking off service members.

While the original version was a great tune on it's own, I dug the cover from another widely-hated band that actually has some great musicians in it-

Shinedown, man, I loved that first record and love Brent's voice, but they went in a direction I can't follow quite some time ago.

Side note; a long, long time friend is Zoltan's guitar tech. The dude got so hounded by crazy fans trying to score passes and shit that he went off all social media altogether and hasn't been back. I started talking to that guy on the AOL Vai message board back in 1996 and he actually helped me with some outstanding life advice when I was a teenager. Stupid people ruin shit all too often.

That's either he or his vocalist on the verses, right?

Eh, I've heard this a few times on the radio now (and even had a long conversation about metal with an Uber driver when this came on). FFDP suck, but the overt bro metal touches are mostly the chorus (unless something happens at the end, I haven't heard it all the way through yet) and that's easy enough to tune out.
