Ted Nugent is another versatile one. He would go great with Stevie Ray Vaughn's helicopter pilot, Randy Rhoad's plane pilot, or Lynrd Skynrd's jet pilot.

He might also work in a supergroup in the role of Eric Clapton's adopted son.

    Vocals: (Young) Jeff Scott Soto
    Guitar: Michael Romeo
    Bass: Billy Sheehan
    Keys: Jens Johansen
    Drums: Mike Portnoy

I could do a list for more progressive music but for a metal band with melodic vocals this is it.

Opeth (current line up) to me is a dream band in many ways.

    So live for today,
    Tomorrow never comes.
    Die young, die young,
Can't you see the writing in the air?
    Die young, gonna die young,
    Someone stopped the fair.
