    Damn Millennials are ruining forums!

I'm in the MG FB group, but the forum is better. It's more organized and because it takes a few steps to post, it filters out the shitposting (for the most part*... ).

Everyone knows the pinnacle of musical discussion was done via carrier pigeon. Been a constant downslope since then.

We lose that battle the day we decide to stop posting regularly here, and I'm not going to make that decision anytime soon.

I think the bigger issue is with something like 15 years history between /7/ and MG, we've just run out of new things to talk about.

Personally, I think FACEBOOK has gotten increasingly shitty in the last 6 months. These days all I ever see are "Suggested Posts" I don't give a fuck about, and the same three people sharing the same memes. I've started putting the usual suspects on 30-day sleep and it's helping, but even so...

Let's face it, "high traffic" was never a description of this site, and I personally like that.

It's also a lot more convenient to hide my self destructive spending habits from my loved ones.

I've been pretty happy with my setup and haven't felt the need to upgrade my current gear or purchase new stuff and I feel a lot of others hit that point too lol.

Facebook is kind of like imageboards where quick comments and posts are neat but any real discussion is a pain in the ass and like mentioned above the format of the site makes it nearly impossible to find things that were posted in the past.

    No Phantasmagoria, no care.

Kidding aside, people move on sometimes because guitar becomes less prevalant in their life for many different resones. Metal is also a trype of music that has less mass appeal than it used to. Growler singers and constant 1,000,000 BPM drums is more limiting in mass appeal than bands of the past.
