Oxblood > Silverburst. Now there is a great Gibson finish.
Like most things involving rabid obsessive fans, blame Tool. (I love Tool, but still, lol).

No shit, I don't even generally LIKE shorter scale guitars, but I was really impressed the first time I played one of those. Haven't thought about them in ages...

I saw VH on the FUCK tour, so the 5150 is what I associate with his tone.

They are 25.5 scale, the bridge is closer to the end which is one reason they balance well when standing. T his pic shows it better.

Other than that... Isn't the Duncan Sentient someone's sig model? Great neck humbucker, either way. And I suppose the Suhr ML Standard is technically a Michael Landau signature model, though they don't make a big deal about it anymore and I barely have heard any of his music.
I don't believe it's a sig but I think I remember it debuting on a Mick Thomson model. Probably wrong though.

Really? Were they ever 24.75"? I could have sworn there were short scale.

I mean, you can get some mean modded Marshall-y tones from 5150s on the Rhythm channel if you don't go nuts with the gain and bump mids/treble over bass

Too much knowledge leads to confusion
