You can always tell on metal album covers with less competent artists that the particular artist might have a problem drawing a specific thing because they always hide it behind other objects.

Usually its hands. I can't count the number of times I have gotten into some obscure scandinavian band and I am checking out their records chronologically thinking, "This cover artist fucking rules". And then I get to like, the fourth album, and it's clear the artist doesn't know how to draw hands, the dude on the cover is this barbarian warrior with a mangled atrocity for a hand and I go back and look at the previous three and notice that he's slyly avoided drawing hands by somehow blocking them with other objects on every other album cover.

In Cage's case it wasn't hands though. They mistakenly hired an artist who couldn't do 3d rendered robo dick.

    No, that IS his dick!

If the point of album cover art is to make you want to listen to the music contained therein, then this artist succeeded wildly. I definitely want to hear the sounds that inspired that collage of sci-fi flotsam!

No, actually, you don't. I'm pretty sure I still own this one, and it's, well, not good. Unless you like half-assed Ripper-era Priest ripoffs.

This has the distinct advantage of being a brilliant album with crap cover art, but it's still *way* more pro than the Cage disc.

That's disappointing. I would have at least hoped for a really bad Fates Warning/Crimson Glory imitation with a wailing, off-key singer.
