    Night Verses

Came across these guys a couple of months ago from a podcast where a producer was discussing great drummers he's worked with. Can't really categorise what it is they do, but i know I like it. I'm kinda feeling that bands like this and Karnivool are the reason that the new Tool album is so disappointing

Great music and musicianship on all fronts but that guy's drumming is out of this fucking world.

In a similar vein, Strawberry Girls are worth a few spins. There's some goofy stuff in there but overall, crazy good playing and 'outside the box' writing like these dudes. Two of the only newer instrumental acts to hold my attention.

Sounds pretty good! ... But I would prefer vocals on top of that.

Agreed, he is an absolute beast. Thanks for the recommendation, the first track I've just checked out reminds of a slightly more straight-forward polyphia, definitely going to be digging through the catalogue and seeing what I can find.

I think one of the appeals to for me is the lack of vocals, I think it would take someone with a really wide or unique style to do justice to the broadness of their sound.

This is one of the tracks I had in mind that has an aggressive rhythm section like a lot of the Night Verses stuff
