    Thanks to this thread, I listened to Slip of the Tongue for the first time in years today. Way better than I remembered. I was really disappointed when it came out.

    I prefer the original mix of "Judgment Day" to this one--Vai's playing is impressive on this alternate version, but the original is more distinctive and the layering at the end is more effective.

    However, this new mix of "Fool for Your Loving" is way better and should have been on the original album.

    I could understand why given John Sykes just ripped the earth open. Everybody should have been looking for "Blue Murder"

    I'd agree. However, I would have kept a couple of the solos.

    I'm surprised to hear you say that about "Fool For Your Loving."

    I found the SOTT album version to be flat and uninspired compared to the 1980 original. The Vai remix has more of a dramatic build and flows better.
