Steve Grimmett's Grim Reaper - "At The Gates" out today

Go buy it. SG is a trooper and his vocals for his brief time in Onslaught are some of my favorite ever, not to mention Grim Reaper and Lionsheart.

He's lost a little bit of high end, but his voice has still aged way better than most singers from that era. Certainly awesome to see he's still go after having half his leg amputated a couple years back.

This song is boring, but Steve sounds friggin' great.

    So live for today,
    Tomorrow never comes.
    Die young, die young,
Can't you see the writing in the air?
    Die young, gonna die young,
    Someone stopped the fair.

I saw Steve G on his US tour and he was... not good. He dodged all the high notes to the point that the melodies were changed. He didn't just skip the super high screams, but even the high notes in the melodies.

Then I saw him in Germany the next year and he was awesome, including a killer cover of Don't Talk to Strangers.

I love Grim Reaper, and I'm glad he's still making music, but this song is not so great.

I guess he was in a bad spot with all the health issues he had?

And yeah, his vocals are the only highlight here.

I like that song, classic car driving heavy metal!! Not that I have drivers license, but at least I can go on the bus.

    His voice sounds OK!
