I really like them. They come up on a Pandora channel I work out to, and every time I'm like "hey this is pretty great, I wonder who it is" it ends up being these guys.
i really dig the first few albums. I'm also a nerd that gets a little tickle inside when i hear him singing about places in Canada that I know. Not something you often hear in our regional metal offerings. I forget which one it is where he clearly had someone break up with him harshly cause the whole album is very forlorn and moany about everything in his life; that is not one of my favorites (but there are still some good riffs).
David Gold was a pretty talented dude. Not everyone's thing, but if you like their more black metaly parts, he also did the Northern Ontario Black Metal Preservation Society.
Digging them a lot, especcially IV and V.
Always thought they were sounding like if Type O and Agalloch had a child. A very sad and depressed child, mind you.
Been listening to V a bunch this weekend and I fucking love it, going to give the rest of their back catalogue a bloody good listen over the next few months.
