Well, this thread is now more relevant than ever before. I've been going through the entire Van Halen catalog since Eddie's death, and God, what a legendary legacy. A museum of memorable riffs and guitar parts. But mostly, I've been watching live stuff from back when I was a teen, remembering the fun he always had playing. Watched "Live without a net" a thousand times.

Such a great DVD and an under-rated E.V.H. riff.

I have to admit this is my favorite:

This song is not my favorite but something about this opening riff just kicks ass.

The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll look down and whisper "No.” ― Alan Moore

    Noodles

    So live for today,
    Tomorrow never comes.
    Die young, die young,
Can't you see the writing in the air?
    Die young, gonna die young,
    Someone stopped the fair.
