Despite the best efforts of the chorus to ruin the song, this is still one of my favorite Amorphis tunes.

One of the best vocalists in metal right now IMO.

Yeah, Amorphis is one of my favorite bands. I have 10 of their 13 studio albums and I MUCH MUCH MUCH prefer them since Tomi Joutsen joined. Pasi is actually my least favorite vocalist they've had. I actually prefer when Tomi Koivusaari was on vocals over Pasi, though I think Tom Joutsen is hands down the best in the band. And it's not just the vocals either. I think their writing and style VASTLY improved with Eclipse (the first album with Tomi Joutsen), which is one of my favorite by them.

Here are two of the songs by them that I've listened to an absolutely absurd number of times:

I completely agree. His voice is amazing. I still love a lot of their older songs too, even with their older singers, like this:

I first heard them back when "Tales from a Thousand Lakes" came out, like 25 years ago. Didn't care for it, but then they did the acoustic EP "My Kantele" and I loved it. I listened to it a ton back in the day.

Eclipse and Skyforger are absolutely fantastic albums.

Definitely agree about Tomi Joutsen improving the band massively. If you like their early music but dislike the vocals, there's the "Magic & Mayhem - Tales from the Early Years" album with re-recordings with Tomi on vocals which is pretty cool.
