Some great live SOTT era Whitesnake live vids

    Whole show:

Vai's tone and playing on SOTT were the best he's ever sounded. Fantastic band lineup, great songwriting and absolutely monstrous tone that still sounds modern today. Not to take anything away from his playing on the DLR albums (which were fantastic) but Whitesnake-Vai really seemed to be the perfect fit for him.

That Donnington '90 video is pretty wild when you consider that this was the version of Whitesnake that played Donnington only seven years earlier:

David Coverdale (whose voice wasn't toast yet in '83) surrounded by a completely different group of musicians.

Get the SOTT anniversary box set. It comes with a re-mastered DVD version of this show that looks and sounds fantastic. Seriously one of my favorite bands and favorite line ups ever. All the discs it comes with are so good.
