Yeah. I mean, artistically, if you've done something already, then you've done it. Why do it again, when that old material still exists?

Not that if I was asked to kick a choice one or two Metallica albums into a black hole, that I wouldn't immediately jump at the chance...

Good song, sounds kinda "remission" like, but more modern.

And yes - crack the skye > all.

Decent song, drum mix is a sloppy mess though.

I dug it. They can do no wrong in my book. The further they go in the direction they've been going in, the more I dig it. It's such a refreshing break from the growling vocals and chugga chugga shit. They're production is always top notch and not the standard metal mix with ultra clicky kick drums and scooped gits. Dig all the tones they come up with and the layering....man, I'd love to have the sessions of their tunes just to hear all the shit going on. They're music gives me the same soothing feeling as Devin Townsend's does. Sounds like this album is going to be stocked with production goodies as well, love the slow section the song goes into. Anytime they get Floyd-y, I get musical boners.

    Yeap.

Their are not the Typical Metal Band "all sound the same" and i consider them Metal. Ver Heavy Rock influenced but still Metal to me. From time to time bands appear that are just different from the pack and stand out. Mastodon are to me one of those bands.
