I shared an elevator with John at Namm one year and he is so cool.

Also much shorter than what I expected Ola is a GIANT next to him.

I saw JP at a Sweetwater event for EBMM guitars, and yeah, he's on the shorter side.

No man is a giant next to Drew Peterson, it would seem.

Just watched the interview and this was awesome! I think if Ola had more smiles to give his cheeks might detach.

I have no doubt that JP really does watch Ola's videos.

Planning to watch this later. Although the last Dream Theater album I bought was A Dramatic Turn of Events in 2011 and I haven't felt like buying any since then, I still love John Petrucci's tone (which is consistently awesome, even if I'm not a fan of a particular song itself), his playing style, how he writes (and plays) solos, plus he seems like a super nice and cool guy. I've watched a ton of his videos just talking about gear, guitars, amps, pedals, and so on, and he's always a joy to listen to (both talk and play).

To be fair, it's hard not to! "Hey this is a cool new preamp from a small company called KSR, let me check it out on Youtube..." See who comes up first

Ola and I are about 2-3 years apart in age and we have very similar tastes. Heck, we both test out gear exactly the same way, if it doesn't chug it probably won't do! So I think for a lot of us, watching this video we're kinda vicariously living through him. I thought it was REALLY great how cool Petrucci was about the amp discussion, saying that he'd be interested to hear what Ola comes up with for a sound since his chugging style wasn't in John's wheelhouse. Seriously an awesome video and like always I wish Ola nothing but the best.
