    Why would Ibanez have trademark issues with their own model?

    Pretty much. Vai said he had been thinking of doing something new with the line for a while so this is where he went. The petal grip is referencing the vine inlay, which I suppose ties it all together a little better than a monkey grip. Though, nothing is cooler than the monkey grip.

    Oh I didn't realize it was still Ibanez. I don't really pay attention to what guitar companies are doing anymore unless it's Charvel.
