The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll look down and whisper "No.” ― Alan Moore

A year ago on this day I got the news that one of my best friends was run-over and killed by a drunk driver - who later claimed she thought he was simply "roadkill". The latest on the case is the girl's family has put a ton of money towards her defense and is looking to simply get probation - there is hope as it is going to trial so we are hoping she sees prison time. Tim was a great guitarist, we met in 9th grade and made some great memories over the years...he eventually moved to Austin and was diagnosed as having a brain tumor and had developed cancer - Tim was told he wouldn't see 40 but lived 8 more years, only to be brutally run-down by this trash. Tim was a big Randy fan so I've been listening to some of his favorites in his memory. Rest in peace, brother.

    Evergrey and the new Soilwork.

I tried to get into Everygrey a couple times over the years but they never stuck. They are now! Went to bed with the new record on the other night and really dug everything I heard. A couple hokey vocal spots....I don't know which song, but there's one where he sounds just like Chris Pratt as Andy Dweyer on Parks And Rec, but everything else has been really killer. Anxious to go further back in their tunes.

The new Soilwork is pretty rippin'. I wasn't digging the singles when they were released, but in the context of the album, everything is great stuff. I've only got one listen in and not cranked up, but it seems like a good continuation of A Ride Majestic. Bjorn is a metal Curt Smith.
Perfection is the enemy of progress.
