Frankenbuild 7 string bridge pickup recommendations??

Annnndddd... once again I'm caught up in pickup analysis paralysis. Here's where I'm leaning (think OSDM/Doom/Thrash stuff):

    Spend more:
    SD Black Winter - $115
Elysian (budget line) Trident II - $75
    Elysian Hellfire - $100
    Dimarzio Super Distortion - $85
    SD Pegasus - $90

or, maybe since this is going in a Franken-build Jackson, I experiment with some cheap options and save a few nickels to replace the bridge itself:

    Dragonfire Screamer - $25
    Ibanez Quantum - $30
    Entwistle Darkstar - $35

The guitar is a JS32-7 basswood body, running into a 6505MH with Line 6 HD500x supplying O/D, Gate and Reverb.

    What would you pick?

The Entwistle pickups punch well above their weight for the cost. I'd say go with that.

Are you aware of any decent reviews/ pointers to similar Dimarzios and Duncans?

There's honestly not much info on them at all. It's been a while since I played a Darkstar, so I couldn't think what to compare it to if I'm honest. The HDN's (6 only atm), and neodymium loaded, and they're mega clear and grindy. I liked them better than literally every BKP I've tried.

I remember being impressed with them last time I was hunting. Then this guy modded the same guitar:

Not sure the "environmental" aspect he mentions matters at all, but... And, he talks for the first 4 minutes... But, it is a great comp for me, since the Jackson pup in the video is the one I'm replacing.

This one doesn't do much for me, mainly due to the playing, but the Entwistle sounds comparable to the DD in most cases, except the first split coil, where the Ent sounds like hot garbage.

This one comped vs a Pegasus I really can't tell much difference. Love the playing here, but wish folks wouldn't use cymbal heavy drumbeats in pup comp videos...

In that last video I actually thought the Darkstar owned the Pegasus. A much clearer sound under distortion. I'm actually quite surprised by that given that the Darkstar is a third of the cost!
