    Boss ES-5 Setup?

    THANKS JEFF

So yeah, I'm thinking about building a fun crazy rig for playing live shows, because although I already have a Roadking, why not have more?

Basically, I want to use the ES-5 to switch between the two preamps I'm playing through the most, and will either run the 2:90 power amp or the Randall RT2/50 I just picked up.

...and I'm not sure where my volume pedal will go. I like having it after the OD's, but I ought to try it before them, in which case, it'd just go right in front of the INPUT, after the wah.

Boss Sucks, nobody uses it. Should have bought a Fractal/Strymon.

Good job, but will it work

I just did the math, and if the pedalboard was on stage, that's a 7-cable bundle already, so I'd need to get a snake . I could drop it all into a small case near the amp, then I'd be down to just three cables, plus my old MidiBuddy to control the ES-5. At which point, I might as well find a rack-mounted looper/switcher

Make a snake, don’t buy one of those shitty pedalsnakes.

I may want one of these...

    https://shop.rjmmusic.com/effect-giz...loop-switcher/

    The ultimate loop switching solution!

The Effect Gizmo packs the most true bypass audio loops in a single rack space. With this switcher, you can take control of up to twelve pedals or effects processors and can control them from any MIDI controller. Turn on any group of pedals with a single button press!

    Features include:

12 audio loops for effect switching (Loops 1-4 internally wired in series, Loops 5-8 internally wired in series, and Loops 9-12 are independent)
Loops 9-12 accept stereo (TRS) connections. The Effect Gizmo can be special ordered with all stereo loops
Loops 9-12 can also double as function switches, allowing you to control amplifier channel switching
A high quality audio buffer is provided which can be placed anywhere in the audio path
"Click Stopper" technology greatly reduces the switching noise associated with relay based switchers
    Works with all MIDI footswitches

The strength of the ES series is to be able to change the order of effects. If you don’t need that, the RJM would work.
