I expect this thing to really take off once some Tone Capture patches start circulating. Also, since making the things is so stupid easy, there should be lots of them turning up once they move some units.
You just convinced me, pulled the trigger on the last remaining one at the lowest price I can find in the UK. The demo convinced me that it's definitely going to get the job done.
Taken an Ebay low-ball offer on my Line 6 G90 to offset some of the cost.
A couple of weeks with this thing and I have to say I'm mightily impressed, it's 'almost' perfect (more on that in a second). It's simple to use, extremely well thought out, very simple to dial a good sound with a huge amount of amps, cabs and mic options. I used Tone Capture yesterday to get the VH4 model to sound closer to the VH4 model that I use in my Kemper and while it isn't 100% perfect, I'd give it a good 95%. For the price, this thing is phenomenal.
And now for the only bad point that I've found, it doesn't do Midi CC out. Midi PC is working fine with the Kemper, but I want to be able to use the stomp switches to simultaneously turn on a Chorus and do the same on the Kemper, or initiate the tuner on both units. I can't help but feel this is a huge oversight on their part, for about 200 squiggles more than a Kemper Remote and Mission Expression pedal, if CC was working then you would have a full secondary rig which integrates perfectly. I would imagine they would sell a ton to guitarist who already have a rack based modeller/profiler.
For the price I paid I'm hugely impressed, with just the one annoyance that it falls slightly short of what it could be.
I hope so. I've had a response that they will pass it to their developers for possible future inclusion, my feeling it that they probably just skipped it to get the unit on the market with an intention of adding it, it's too much of an oversight to have missed.
